Come and play with the Bears in Winter Park, a small but lively mountain town on the backside of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.  Thousands of acres of national forest and three designated wilderness areas offer a natural playground with over 600 miles of trails.  Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, the park has 415 square miles, over 346 miles of trails and 78 peaks over 12,000 feet high.  There are three beautiful mountain lakes in the area (Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby) eye candy for the soul, a hot sulphur springs resort and spa where you can soak and relax is nearby, horseback riding, and lots more.  Just more fun than Bears were meant to have!

This year, OctoBearFest celebrates its 14th anniversary, and we plan to make this a memorable time for all who participate.  We have put together a weekend around good company, good food, and good times for you and ourselves.  Meet old and make new friends, and enjoy some of the best Colorado has to offer.   We will combine the best of past OctoBearFest with new and exciting activities in the Rocky Mountains.  Join us!  You’re going to have a great time.  You can relax the whole weekend with shopping, going to some great restaurants, and there are plenty of easy trail to take a leisurely walk in the mountains of Colorado or go for a ride on a horse drawn wagon.   For the more adventurous and athletically inclined there is horseback riding, golf, and more challenging hiking trails.

Getting to Winter Park is Easy!  Winter Park is located 67 miles northwest of Denver, a one and one-half hour drive via all-weather I-70.  Take exit 232 onto U.S. Highway 40 North.  From this exit, it is a 25-mile drive to Winter Park.  You can also get here by door-to-door airport shuttle vans or Amtrak (check with Amtrak for times)

Our host hotel is the SUPER 8 LODGE.  Quality and superb value await you at Winter Park's Super 8. Located in the heart of downtown where everything is an easy walk.   Over 20 different restaurants are within a 5-minute walk.  All rooms have king or queen size beds, satellite TV (multiple selections of HBO, ESPN and all of the Denver stations).  After your daily activity, take a soak in the 15-person indoor hot tub.  You will be close to all that you'll be doing, in the heart of Winter Park.  Our special OBF rate is a very do-able $44.00 double occupancy.
TELEPHONE: 970-726-8088.

Deno's Mountain Bistro, our bar and banquet location for the weekend, has been a Winter Park tradition for over 20 years.  Last year's banquet was arguably the best ever.
