Movie Matinee:
The Wrestler
Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke "creates a galvanizing,
humorous, deeply moving portrait that instantly takes its place among
the great, iconic screen performances." --Variety
Unable to sustain any real relationships, pro wrestler
Randy lives for the thrill of the show and the adoration of his fans.
However, a heart attack forces him into retirement. As his sense
of identity starts to slip away, he begins to evaluate the state of his
life -- trying to reconnect with his daughter, and striking up a
romance with an aging stripper.
Rated R for sexuality/nudity, language, violence and
some drug use.
Meet in the lobby of
Harkins' Northfield 18 Theater (at Stapleton) before showtime.
8301 E 46th Ave at the south end of Main Street (near
Quebec St and I-70). Plenty of free parking.
