Drop in any Thursday between 6:30 and 9pm  for lively conversation over coffee, espresso, tea or snacks.  (Decaf, too!)  Share your week, your world, and a few laughs.  There's
quality brew and good service at Illegal Grounds, located at 925 E. 17th Ave in Uptown Denver (6 blocks east of the Wrangler.)
     Here's an alternative for socializing during the week, and also to fill the need for a place to gather and enjoy ourselves in a non-bar atmosphere.

Dungeons & Dragons Group
     Come join your fellow bear and cub gamers in a campaign of mystery, intrigue, adventure and excitement.  We have an ongoing Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition Campaign for FRB members and friends.  All are welcome to attend.
    Come to play or just lurk around to see what it's all about.  Help is available for character development, general rules and outline of play.  Meetings are Thursdays 7-10pm
  (For months with 5 Thursdays we will not meet on the fifth Thursday)  Also on Saturdays 3-8pm, except on FRB event & meeting days.

Every Friday is Bear Friday at the Denver Wrangler.  Happy hour prices all day and all night when you show your 2009 FRB membership card.  Also $8 domestic draft pitchers and $2 vodka drinks, plus free soda and bottled water.

 1st Saturday of each month at Broadways Bar, 1027 Broadway in Denver.  Drink specials for FRB members are $1 drafts of Bud Light and Coors Light  (must show your FRB card)  and $2.50 for non-members, good from 6pm-closing.  Prime gathering time is 8-10pm.  Hungry folks can order take-out pizza and wings next door at Luciano's.

     First Saturday of each month at the Eagle.  Free beer bust for FRB members showing their current-year membership cards, 9 til 11pm.

FRB Special Election Meeting & potluck dinner
     This special meeting brings our bylaws revision election to a close.  Regular monthly business will also be conducted.  Come and meet new members and mingle with the regulars.  We'll kick off with a potluck dinner at 5pm, followed by the club meeting following at approx 6pm.  The club will provide a main dish for the potluck, and we're asking you to bring a salad, side dish or dessert.
     We'll celebrate our February birthdays, and of course, there will be door prizes! 
There will be a special door prize for members only: a progressive cash drawing continued from each membership meeting.  (Member must be present to win.)  Minimum prize will be $25.00
     Guests are always welcome!

  Join us at the Wrangler for Sweet on the 2nd Saturday of every month.  DJ's Jarrad and Craig begin at 10pm to spin your favorite nonstop dance tunes.

  Beer Bust to benefit Octobearfest
     Front Range Bears (and friends) will be pouring for this Beer Bust, which will benefit our annual event -- Octobearfest.  Volunteers are needed to help serve the many bar patrons that will be out that day.  We welcome any member or friend to assist.  If you are able, please respond to chairman@octobearfest.org

  Sordid Lives’ Parties Starting April 13
      If you are a fan on ‘Sordid Lives’ – or do not yet know you are a fan of ‘Sordid Lives’ – you will not want to miss evenings at the home of Sam Gallegos and Matt Hess, where they will be showing episodes – in order – of the first season of the Logo TV series ‘Sordid Lives’.  The first evening will be Monday, April 13, at 7pm and will feature the first four episodes of the 2008 season – and a west Texas dish, ‘speshly prepared by Matt Hess (most likely a four cheese, sausage and Dorito casserole).
     The series is the pre-quel to the 2000 movie ‘Sordid Lives’ (‘A Black Comedy about White Trash’) and follows the west Texas adventures of Brother Boy, Latrelle, LaVonda, Sissy, Nolita, G.W., Bitsy May, Wordell, Odell, Juanita, Gyndora and host of other people you may recognize as relatives.
     All are welcome and encouraged to bring their favorite white trash drink, side dish or dessert to share with y’all.  There are a total of 12 episodes.  Please RSVP to Sam at samgallegos@comcast.net

   Welcome FRB's newest member discounter!  Denver has finally got it’s piano back, and Mozart Lounge welcomes all bears holding 2009 membership cards to an all-evening happy hour, 6 til 11pm, on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
     Mozart was recently acquired and remodeled by the owner's of South Broadway's Barker Lounge, already familiar to many FRB members.  Newly remodeled and lots of music!

‘Sordid Lives’ Part II will be Tuesday, April 21 at 7pm.

  Movie Matinee: "State of Play"
     Oscar-winner Russell Crowe leads an all-star cast in a blistering thriller about a DC reporter whose street smarts lead him to untangle a mystery of murder and collusion among some of the nation’s most promising political and corporate figures.  Ben Affleck is a congressman and the future of his party until his assistant/mistress is brutally murdered, and buried secrets come tumbling out.  Cast includes Helen Mirren, Robin Wright Penn, Jason Bateman, Jeff Daniels and Rachel McAdams.
     **Time will be the performance nearest 1pm (at press time, Fandango showed this to be 12:45, but please check your newspaper or Fandango on the day of performance to be sure.)
