The Online Journal of the Front Range Bears

The May 2008 edition of
The Grizzette, our monthly newsletter,
is now ready to enjoy!

NOTES FROM THE EDITOR:

May’s edition of the FRB club newsletter, The Grizzette, is ready for your reading enjoyment!  This month you’ll read about One Bear’s Life – a train trip from Nevada and how restful such a trip can be.  Then slow down with some advice from our very own Bear Trainer, Steve Heyl as he encourages us to Slow Down a bit during our exercise routines.  You’ll also get Sam Gallegos’ take on the Bear Market and the state of gasoline prices—and how they directly affect our economy in our capitalistic society, and then move on to Scott Womack’s Survival Guide to Big Box computer stores and their technicians.

5 Flavors of Hideki columnist Hideki Gomi discusses his sweet tooth and his favorite types of desserts, while Sergio Antillon gives us an update on Western Slope Culture in his monthly column entitled Across The Divide.  DJ, music enthusiast, and HI-FI Music Reviewer, Jay Holbrook returns with his quarterly column where he gives us his take on Madonna’s newest release Hard Candy, and Car Corner returns with columnist Sam Gallegos in the driver’s seat of the Pontiac G8.  FRB Member Greg Lindfors talks about the Democratic Process and his attendance at the Denver County Democratic Assembly, and is the featured “In My Opinion” Guest Columnist.

We also learn about some updates on this year’s OctoBearFest from Jeff Stevenson, chairman of the event, and Dine Out Coordinator Mac Freeberg gives the skinny on where the next scheduled dine will occur.  The Did You Know section is chalk full of information including links to the website calendar and information on the next few month’s Book Club selections, as well as great photos courtesy of Bob Murphy.

There is still plenty of time to submit your photo entries for a shot at being chosen for the front cover!  Enjoy The Grizzette, and as always, if you have an idea for a column or information that you’d like included, please feel free to send an email to the editor at: grizzette@frontrangebears.org

USING YOUR GRIZZETTE

1. Opening the document:

Because the Grizzette is somewhat larger than a typical web page, it will take a little longer to open fully.
The default when you "click here" (above) is to open the Grizzette in a new window.  If you are using a tabbed browser and want the Grizzette to open in a new tab instead, just right-click on the "click here" button and choose "open in a new tab."

2. Interactivity:
Your Grizzette is interactive.  There are email addresses, web links, and links to other sections of the newsletter.

  • EMAIL:  if you click on an email address, you will get a pre-addressed, blank email message from your email program.  If your email program was not already open, the click will attempt to open  it.  Copy and paste the link if you want to save it or place it elsewhere.

  • LINKS:  if you click on a link in the newsletter, it will open the web page in the same tab you are using unless you right-click and choose a new tab or new window.
