Dues/Finances

Can a member view the Club’s financial records?

The Front Range Bears maintains an open policy with the financial records for the club. There are two ways to view them:

  1. Request to see them an any of the monthly Club meetings.
  2. Contact the Treasurer and arrange a private meeting.
How do i know if my membership is active

Becoming a member of the Front Range Bears is a two step process.

  1. Register with the website.
This allows you to select a username and password. However, you membership is not active since we have not received your annual dues.
  2. Dues have been received and processed.
After you have registered with the website, you are redirected a page to process your dues using PayPal.
Your membership is not active if you skip this step.

Please note:
Active members will see a Members menu after they have logged in. If you do not see this, your dues payment has not been received. Please send an email to the Webmaster asap.

Where do my Membership dues go?

Member Dues help pay subsidize Club Sponsored Events and pay for the operating expenses for the entire club such as:

  • Taxes
  • Bank and PayPal Fees
  • Member pins/bars
  • Meeting Facility Fees
  • Storage Unit
  • Website hosting
  • etc.

Unfortunately, member dues does not include admittance to all Club Sponsored Events. Dues would need to be at least $80.00 per person and would be out of reach for most members. This is why we charge a small fee for people to attend most of the Club Sponsored Events such as Summer Campout, Summer Picnic/Pool Party, Holiday Party etc.

Feel free to contact the Board of Directors if you have any questions or concerns about the current dues structure.

Why are the membership dues $45.00?

The Board felt it best to stabilize our income for the year, and are relying mostly on the funds raised from yearly membership to pay for the operating costs of the club.  We are trying not to be dependent on money raised from beer busts for our general fund.  This doesn’t mean that we won’t have beer busts throughout the year, but the income generated from these activities will be used to subsidize our activities and events schedule. Remember, beer busts are only successful when we have a lot of people participating. So make sure to mark your calendars for the busts coming up. Even if you don’t drink beer, you can still purchase the cup and have sodas and juices all night too!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Board of Directors.

Why do I have to pay to attend Club Sponsored Events?

Member Dues cover operating expenses for the entire club as well as help subsidize Club Sponsored Events. Including admittance to every event would increase an individual’s dues to at least $80.00 per year. Unfortunately, this is out of reach for most members, and not everyone wants to attend every event. The Board of Directors works very hard to keep the cost of Club Sponsored Events as low as possible, but it is not financially feasible to offer free admittance while also keeping the member dues as low as possible.

Feel free to contact the Board of Directors if you have questions or concerns regarding the current dues structure.
